
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 1, at Indiana Funeral Care in the Harry Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250. Viewing starts at 10 am and the Homegoing service will be promptly thereafter at 11 am with full military honors.
Mr. William E. Carmickle, 48 of Indianapolis, Indiana went home to be with the Lord, Sunday June 25, 2017. The eldest of four sons Mr. Carmickle was born December 30, 1968 to the late James W. Carmickle and Juanita Carmickle Hill in Pine Bluff, Ar. Mr. Carmickle graduated from Pine Bluff High School and shortly thereafter joined the United States Army. Mr. Carmickle served 3.5 years including a tour in Iraq during Desert Storm. Honorably discharged Mr. Carmickle received several military honors including the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service medal, Southwest Asia service medal and two bronze service stars.
After his military service William traveled the country making various stops (Killeen/ Ft. Worth, TX; Milwaukee, WI; California) before making the state of Indiana his home. Here he earned his Associates of Science degree in Organizational Leadership as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Grace College. William was a hard worker in various occupations and was known to have never met a stranger. It is here in Indiana where he met and married his wife, Venita Peters and remained married until his passing.
William Carmickle leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Venita Peters, Indianapolis, Indiana; his mother Juanita Hill, Pine Bluff, AR; one daughter, Carolyn Carmickle of Pine Bluff, AR; three brothers, Walter J. Carmickle, Manhattan, KS; Willie T. Carmickle (DeAnna), Pine Bluff, AR; and Jimmy W. Carmickle, Topeka, KS; one granddaughter Alaysha Carmickle, Pine Bluff, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
